Climate
Syros is an island in the western part of the Aegean Sea and is part of the Cycladic islands. The capital of the island is Ermoupoli which also is the largest city on the island. It is the most densely populated island of the Cycladic Islands. The most popular beaches on the island are Mega Gialos, Finikas, Galissas and Kini. The capital of Ermoupoli is known for its beautiful architecture. Many beautiful buildings can be found here. Among them are the Agios Nikolaos church, the beautiful Town Hall and the Pinakotheque. Syros has a warm Mediterranean climate influenced by the Aegean Sea. Summers are warm, sometimes even hot. Rainfall is scarce during this period. Winters are much colder with daytime temperatures of just above 10 degrees Celsius. Most of the rain falls during this period. During the warmest days a sea breeze offers some cooling.
